Course Description:

STCW stands for Standard of Training and Certification of Watchkeeping. If you want to begin a career in the merchant navy, aboard a ship, passing this training program is a minimum requirement.

STCW is not about a single course! Many courses come under its umbrella. Some courses belong to advanced level. Such advanced courses can be pursued only after obtaining sea service or similar certificates (or qualifications).

However, the basic training course can be pursued after 10th or 12th (depending upon the institute’s policy). The basic training course is made up of four modules – PST (Personal Survival Techniques), EFA (Elementary First Aid), Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting and Personal Safety and Social Responsibility.
